Reiki
Reiki is an energy-based therapy that helps calm the nervous system, reduce pain and anxiety, and support the body’s natural ability to heal. Supported by modern research, Reiki has been shown to lower blood pressure and cortisol levels, regulate heart-rate variability (HRV), and activate the parasympathetic “rest and digest” response—the state where the body repairs, restores, and rebalances itself. It is increasingly used in hospital and clinical settings, including post-stroke rehabilitation, oncology, and palliative care, as a safe and effective complement to medical treatment.
My approach to Reiki is body-centered, blending traditional Reiki practice with recognized massage therapy techniques to help the body settle more deeply into rest. This includes slow compressions, gentle joint holds, and rhythmic, soothing touch that guide the nervous system toward deep relaxation. These somatic techniques help release physical and emotional tension, quiet the mind, and bring the client back into a grounded connection with their body.
Because this session incorporates therapeutic massage methods to enhance relaxation and nervous system regulation, it is covered under Massage Therapy and includes an RMT receipt.
For those who prefer a purely energetic experience, a traditional Reiki session without somatic touch is also available and can be booked separately (not eligible for RMT coverage).
